Akira Kurosawa meets Monty Python in director Yo Kohatsu's satirical tale of a samurai lord's 400 year quest to build the castle of his dreams. Ondaiji will do whatever it takes to build the perfect castle, and with a little help from a kindly professor, mentally stunted town officials, and a mysterious old woman it just might happen within his own lifetime. If he follows the advice of the carefree tramps who suggest he build the castle out of cardboard, however, Ondaiji may find his lifelong dream turning particularly soggy come first rain.
